Slot Symbols, Wilds and Scatters Explained
Symbol names are common across many slots, but their exact behaviour is set by each game’s rules.
Regular and high-value symbols
Regular symbols form combinations described in the paytable. A game may group them into lower- and higher-value sets. Artwork alone does not tell you the value, so compare the listed combinations and required stake.
Wild, scatter and bonus symbols
A wild may substitute for selected symbols, sometimes with restrictions. Scatters may pay or activate a feature without following a standard line. Bonus symbols can trigger a separate round. These functions are not universal.
Questions worth asking
Check how many symbols are required, whether they must appear on adjacent reels, what a wild cannot replace and whether a feature needs a particular stake. Features add variety, not certainty. Set limits before play and never chase a missing trigger.
