Setting Time Limits for Slot Play
Fast, repeated games can make time difficult to notice. A clear stop time creates a boundary that does not depend on winning or losing.
Choose the finish first
Pick a short duration before opening a game. Set an external alarm, avoid late-night sessions and do not schedule play before work, study, driving or caregiving. Include breaks away from the screen.
Make the limit firm
When the alarm sounds, finish immediately rather than waiting for a win, feature or “round number.” Log out and switch activities. Session reminders and account time-outs can help, but they work best alongside a personal rule.
Notice warning signs
Losing track of time, postponing responsibilities or reopening the game soon after stopping deserves attention. Take a longer break. If limits repeatedly fail, use stronger account restrictions and consider professional support.
